saxposcor: usage
and installation instructions
The task saxposcor is a tcl script that corrects
the coordinate of LECS and MECS event files through the following steps:
-
modification of the "sky coordinates at reference
pixel" keywords (TCRVL9 and TCRVL10 for MECS, TCRVL11
and TCRVL12 for LECS) in the header of the event files. The updated
values of the TCRVL keywords are calculated according to the equations
discussed in the text.
-
addition of the new keyword CCFLAG (with value "True")
indicating that the correction has been performed. The task saxposcor performs
a check of the presence of the CCFLAG keyword to prevent from applying
the correction more than once.
-
addition of two new keywords (OTCRVL9 and
OTCRVL10
for MECS, OTCRVL11 and OTCRVL12 for LECS) recording the values
of the TCRVL keywords before the correction.
The task can be used to correct any BeppoSAX
NFI event file (LECS, MECS1, MECS2, MECS3, MECS23 and MECS).
The usage of saxposcor is the following:
saxposcor filename=MECS2_00000000.evt indir=path
The task saxposcor needs the FTOOLS package installed
to run.
To install saxposcor retrieve the following two
files:
saxposcor
saxposcor.par
Please note that the parameter file "saxposcor.par" must
be put in the directory $FTOOLS/syspfiles/
