Definition of auxiliary quantities in SAX

• Earth elevation angle: angle between the pointing direction and the Earth limb (if <0 the target is occulted by the Earth)

• Bright Earth angle: angle between the pointing direction and the bright Earth terminator

• Sun angle: angle between the pointing direction and the direction to the Sun

Moreover the following quantitiy is defined only in XAS environment:

• Pointing type: it may assume one of the following values:
  • 0 = nominal pointing
  • 1 = bright Earth
  • 2 = dark Earth
