Selection region file syntax

The following rules are to be followed to write a spatial region file which is suitable to be correctly interpreted by XAS:

• the files are plain ASCII

• the coordinates are expressed in linearized pixels

• any lines define a selection region. Such a region is:
  • included if the syntax COMMAND(parm1,parm2,...) is used
  • excluded if the syntax -COMMAND(parm1,parm2,...) is used

• only the following commands are supported:
  • BOX(xcenter,ycenter,xsize,ysize,xsideangle)

  • CIRCLE(xcenter,ycenter,radius)

  • ELLIPSE(xcenter,ycenter,minoraxissize,majoraxissize,angle)

  • SECTOR(xcenter,ycenter,radius,angle1,angle2)

  Angles are always measured counterclockwise from the X axis.
