File types

DESCRIPTION

All stageII datafiles have the FITS (Flexible Image Transport System)
dataformat.

The filetypes used are identified by the value of the CONTENT keyword in the
primary FITS header.
A "type" dependant suffix, by default appended to the name of every file
created, provides merely a clue to the type. A program, requiring a certain
type of a file, will append the default suffix to the name supplied
